Ms. McAndrews is an Associate within the firm’s litigation department. Lisa’s practice areas and experience include both the litigation and prosecution of applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in both patent and trademark matters. Her practice work in these areas includes counseling and advice regarding the development of domestic and international intellectual property portfolios.
Lisa’s litigation experience before the United States District Courts has involved matters of trademark infringement and unfair competition. Her experience in patent infringement cases has included numerous issues, including multiple Hatch-Waxman pharmaceutical actions which involve questions of patent validity and infringement between generic and brand name drug manufacturers. Her work has encompassed a wide variety of goods ranging from footwear and Mylar balloons to windmill components and surgical devices. Lisa has additional experience with intellectual property matters as related to the exercise and fitness, publishing, and insurance underwriting industries.
Ms. McAndrews also has handled litigation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board., both in Opposition and Cancellation proceedings before the Board.
Lisa graduated from Middlebury College in 2002, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics. Prior to attending law school, she was a member of the Physics and Mathematics faculty of a secondary school located in New Jersey. Lisa earned her Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in May of 2007. While at BC Law, she served as president of the school’s Intellectual Property and Technology Forum online journal.
Lisa is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut. She is also admitted in the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, and the District of Connecticut.
